2GETHER
Encourage community gatherings
Design Background
Teenagers tend to be more active and love to have fun; hence often hang out with their friends to bond with each other. Activities like card and board games are played during a community gathering. Gatherings are usually conducted for a long time, so the teenagers may feel uncomfortable and restless after staying seated for a period of time. They may also face personal space constraints for large gatherings.
Design Statement
To design a chair that involves physical interaction for the active teenagers when they are having community gathering.
Mood Board
Friendly:  Kind, Pleasant, Approachable

Modularity
Allows for more community gathering by joining table-to-tables
The seats can be combined from table to table to become a larger table for teenagers to play, study and eat together. It is also space-saving and allows personal space.
Accommodate to different sitting positions
Allows two-way seating (front / back)
Users are able to sit facing forward or backward as well as different sitting positions and postures. For the material manipulation, it was inspired by the Singapore merlion fish scales. The scale pattern allows teenagers to play and feel to cease fidgetiness and restlessness. This enhances their seating experience without feeling uncomfortable.
